Amity Short Film Festival awards 2 Iranian titles

The 3rd Int’l Amity Short Film Festival in Turkey awards 2 Iranian titles.

The 3rd edition of the International Amity Short Film Festival in Turkey has awarded two Iranian titles.

The 13-minute ‘The Red Fire’ by Mona Shahi won the special jury award and the 15-minute ‘Where We Come From’ by Jafar Altafi received the second prize.

The first prize of the Turkish event was shared by ‘DA YIE’ by Anthony Nti and ‘Le Syndrome d’Archibald’ by Daniel Perez.

A synopsis of ‘The Red Fire’ reads “The Darkness Demon has swept over the world, trying to set the ending of Light, unlike the earlier promises and prophecies. It is in such an era that a flock of Red birds travels in search of the Red Fire; a Fire that according to the prophecies, wipes out the blackness and puts an end to the constant eclipse and absence of the Sun. But where are they going to find the Red Fire?”

“Couple of teenagers try to make a video clip in order to elevate their life to an upper stage whit one of their father’s camera,” a tagline on ‘Where We Come From’ reads.

Launched in 2017, the three-day Amity festival promotes films about friendship and amity.

The 3rd International Amity Short Film Festival was held on December 11-13. The festival presented some 50 short films and 3 feature films, including three world premieres and 14 Turkish premieres.

Due to the pandemic and lock-down of theaters, all films were screened online.
